Cristine Maloney, MD, HMDC is the Medical Director of Palliative Care and Hospice at Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNH). Dr. Maloney joined VNH full-time in 2016 after working for the organization on a part-time basis for several years prior.
Dr. Maloney is responsible for overseeing care of the organization’s hospice patients. She has both clinical and administrative responsibilities including home visits with patients, reviewing all hospice admissions and certifying and re-certifying patients as appropriate for hospice services. She is a resource for the members of the hospice interdisciplinary team to help with symptom management and psychosocial concerns.
Dr. Maloney went to medical school at the University of Vermont, followed by a residency in primary care internal medicine at Yale and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. She is licensed in both Vermont and New Hampshire and is Hospice Medical Director Certified (HMDC).
Prior to joining VNH, Dr. Maloney worked at Gifford Health Care where she had a primary care internal medicine practice and provided palliative care consultative services both inpatient and outpatient. Dr. Maloney continues to provide palliative care consultative services at Gifford and is the medical director of Menig Nursing Home.
