Gerald Best is the Director of Revenue Cycle for Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNH). Gerry joined VNH in 2016, but also worked for VNH from 2002 until 2004.
Gerry is responsible for all insurance verification and authorization, billing, and document management. This includes managing all aspects of payer relations, document tracking, claim submission, financial assistance, and collections in a highly complex and regulated environment.
Gerry holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Champlain College. Prior to rejoining VNH, he spent the past 25 years managing Revenue Cycle Operations across multiple healthcare specialties including family medicine, behavioral health, hospital, ambulatory care, homecare, and hospice.
Gerry has served as a lead member on several system implementation teams including VNH’s current Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system McKesson and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s current EMR Epic, and has completed Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt training from the Value Institute Learning Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
